Average Weather
Daytime highs hit the hundreds through September and early October. With
a wealth of sunny days, the year-round tropical climate seldom dips below
daytime high of seventy even in the winter. Sarasota averages 361 annual
days of sunshine.
Transportation
The best way to get around Sarasota is by car. Airport arrivals can pick
up rental cars there. Public bus service schedules and information are
available via a call to Sarasota County Transit Authority at (941) 316-1234.
In-Season Costs
Budget hotels start in the $60 range for basic doubles far from the
waterfront. Restaurant costs are consistent with other resort areas. A
moderately priced lunch will run in the six through ten-dollar range. Movies
and other amenities are consistent with prices throughout the Southeast.
Day Trips
Beyond Sarasota's beaches, botanical gardens, and golf courses, it's
close enough to either Tampa or Orlando for a day trip.
